How to Open Library Audio Books in .odm Files

As value investors, we are big believers in gathering business insights through reading and listening to audio books. If you use eLibrary and download an audio book, you often find the file with the extension of .odm. For example, we recently downloaded from New York Public Library the audio book of "Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life". The file comes with an extension of .odm.

How to open a .odm file and listen to the audio book?

1. You need to download OverDrive Media Console first:
http://www.overdrive.com/software/omc/

2. After the downloading OverDrive, you should be able to open the ebook. But if you use Windows Vista 64 bit Service Pack 1, OverDrive may ask you to do a security upgrade 2.5.0.1 for your Windows Media Player. And if you follow the instruction and click upgrade, nothing happens. In that case, you will need the following link to manually install the security patch 2.5.0.1 for Windows Media Player:
